Buffalo to Extend
Warm Welcome
BVA members and their families contemplating attendance at the Association’s 61st National Convention will be greeted by the wonder of Niagara Falls just 25 minutes from the Adam’s Mark Buffalo Niagara Hotel.
Other attractions, many of which have been known to take visitors by surprise, include outstanding theater, a world-class symphony, authentic American heritage sites, extraordinary architecture, nonstop nightlife, an historic zoo, one of the world’s top collections of modern art, charming restaurants, quality shopping, professional sports, and an array of family attractions.

One of the nation's greatest sources of naval history, the Buffalo and Erie County Naval & Military Park is located just outside downtown Buffalo. |
The Adam’s Mark is centrally located in historic downtown Buffalo. Convention attendees can take a short walk to the waterfront or to a Main Street filled with shops, a light rail, and the architectural designs that make the city unique.
Hotel guest rooms feature complimentary high-speed Internet access and daily newspaper delivery. Standard amenities such as coffee makers, irons and ironing boards, in-room movies, and voice mail are also included. Guest rooms are available through the convention rate for $80 for both single and double occupancy. Additional guests will be charged $9 each per night. The room tax is currently 13.75 percent, which brings the total to an even $91 per night.
The Adam’s Mark has two dining facilities: Deco Restaurant, which serves regional cuisine in a casual atmosphere, and Players Lounge and Sports Bar, which offers light food portions and big screen sports. Numerous other restaurants are located within a short distance.
Reservations are secured by calling 800-444-ADAM (2326), or through the hotel website http://www.adamsmark.com/buffalo/index.asp. Individuals making reservations must remember to state their affiliation with the Blinded Veterans Association in order to receive the negotiated rate. Participants are urged to reserve rooms as far in advance as possible with July 12, 2006 being the final date to receive the BVA rate.
History buffs attending the 61st National Convention should plan to visit the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural Historic Site. Roosevelt was sworn in at the site in 1901 following William McKinley's assassination. |
The Adam’s Mark is located 10.8 miles, or approximately 15 minutes, from the Buffalo Niagara International Airport. The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle. Please note that drivers will be instructed in advance to make verbal announcements when they arrive and depart from the curbside shuttle pick-up location. Drivers will get out of their vans and, in a loud voice, indicate that they are picking up passengers headed to the Adam’s Mark. The shuttle runs 6:00 a.m.-10:30 p.m. seven days a week.
