SLC Sight of 2004 Festival
More than 120 military veteran medal winners in music, dance,
drama, or arts contests will participate in the 16th annual National
Veterans Creative Arts Festival October 9-16. The 2004 event will
be held in Salt Lake City.
"The National veterans Creative Arts Festival helps demonstrate
that real healing goes well beyond a persons physical needs,"
said Secretary Principi. "For many veterans, the festival
has been more than a one-week event and is a stepping stone to
further artistic success."
Sponsorship of the festival comes from VA, the American Legion
Auxiliary, and Help Hospitalized Veterans.
Veterans History Project
Blinded veterans interested in becoming a part of history are
still invited and encouraged to participate in the Veterans History
Project.
The project accepts written memoirs and both audio and video
interviews. Guidelines for participation are offered on the Veterans
History Project website. As of May 31, a printed "Memoir
Kit" was also available for veterans wishing to write their
stories. Copies of the kit can be accessed at www.loc.gov/folklife/vets/memoirkit.html
