Official Notice #2

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 3b of Article IX (National Convention) of the BVA National Bylaws, all members of the Blinded Veterans Association in good standing are hereby notified that the BVA 59th National Convention will be held at the Reno Hilton Hotel, 2500 East Second Street, Reno, Nevada 89595, during the period Tuesday, August 10, through Saturday, August 14, 2004.

This year’s pre-registration packet does not include a copy of the official BVA National Headquarters proxy form. The change in procedure resulted from a bylaw amendment approved at last year’s convention that eliminated its inclusion in the packet.

Members or Associate Members in good standing who wish to vote by proxy may now request a form by writing or calling the Acting Assistant Administrative Director at BVA National Headquarters no later than 45 days before (June 26, 2004) the opening day of the 59th Convention. In compliance with Section 2c of Article IX, the proxy form must be completed and returned to BVA National Headquarters (Attn: Acting Assistant Administrative Director). To be considered valid, the envelope containing the form must be postmarked no later than 21 days (July 20, 2004) before the date of the convention.
