Reno, Nevada, site of the BVA 46th, 52nd, and 59th National Conventions,
was founded in 1868 during the construction of the Central Pacific
Railroad. The town was named after Jesse Lee Reno, a Union general
killed in the Civil War.
Although Reno was once little more than a rail transport
link to the rich gold and silver mines of Virginia City, its tourist
economy has recently thrived. The desert metropolis of more than
300,000 is situated 4,498 above sea level. Convention attendees
can anticipate hot, dry days and cool, crisp evenings.
See you there!
