BVA Bulletin (BVA's voice)

Through this quarterly publication, blinded veterans, their families and other interested parties keep in touch with each other as well as services, benefits and legislation. The Bulletin is offered free of charge to all blinded veterans on BVA's mailing list.

Regional Groups (BVA's heart and soul)

Regional groups offer blinded veterans and their families opportunities for recreation, social activities and support groups. Regional groups also set up and staff volunteer service offices in VA medical centers and clinics. Often blinded veterans have their first contact with BVA and learn about available services, benefits and information through a regional group or volunteer service activity.

BVA's Staff and National Officers

BVA's elected national officers, who give freely of their time and talents, combine their efforts with those of the Association's paid employees in service to America's blinded veterans. In addition to Field Service personnel based throughout the country, BVA staff members work at an Association-owned historic building in the Chinatown neighborhood of our Nation's Capital. The building is located some two miles northwest of the Capitol building and two miles northeast of The White House. BVA's National Headquarters is composed of the following working departments: Administration, Communications, Development, Finance, Government Relations, and Membership.

The BVA Auxiliary Collect

The National Blinded Veterans Association Auxiliary (BVAA) was established in 1977 to educate and offer mutual assistance and aid to friends and family members of blinded veterans. BVAA seeks to strengthen the spirit of fellowship that naturally exists among its members. Any friends, family members, or individuals age 18 and over who are interested in the work of BVA are eligible for membership.

Founding member Catherine McCraken Burnett, who also designed the BVA Auxiliary emblem, best summed up the mission of BVAA and its members when she penned the following during the Auxiliary's early stages:
