by Nancy Geden, BVAA National President
We finally have our own flags! Dora Gabe placed the order and
she has received them, courtesy of Dixie Flags in San Antonio,
Texas.
Our scholarship committee has been hard at work. Barbara Stocking,
committee chair, will announce the winners at our meeting in Myrtle
Beach. These scholarships for the children and spouses of blinded
veterans are possible because of the efforts and hard work of
our members. I thank you all.
Hazel Compton is planning an Auxiliary luncheon for the convention
week. Information will be available at our first meeting, which
will be August 27 (Wednesday) at 9 a.m.
For anyone who is not a BVAA member and would like to join, our
dues are $10 per year. Our membership is open to all family and
friends of blinded veterans. Please complete the membership reminder/application
form at right and send it to Mary McKenzie at the address indicated.
Now is the time to renew your membership!
There has been one change this year. Mary will no longer be mailing
membership cards unless BVAA members enclose a self-addressed,
stamped envelope with their application and payment. Those attending
the convention, however, may receive them from Mary sometime during
the week.
Im looking forward to seeing all of you in South Carolina!
