Final Thought

  1

VA blind rehabilitation pioneer and BVA stalwart Russ Williams once wrote that a blind center is where faith is strongest, and where the means to achieve hope, respect, and freedom are accorded. Who could then doubt the urgent need for world-class facilities to house world-class services to blinded veterans?

Below, the reconstructed Central Blind Rehabilitation Center at Hines, Illinois, and dignitaries attending the May 20 dedication. Left to right, Alumni President Bill Lyons, present Hines Chief Jerry Schutter, Tom Miller, and VA Secretary James Nicholson.
