The BVA Auxiliary challenge every year is to raise as much money
as possible for the national scholarship fund. Each year we have
a larger goal, and this years results turned out to be better
than ever before.
Through the dedicated effort of the Auxiliary members, and donations
from BVA members and other caring individuals, BVAA managed to
raise $4,300 for the scholarship fund. This means that qualifying
men and women will once again receive help in pursuing training
and education goals in their chosen fields.
Hats off to all Auxiliary members who gave so generously of their
time and donations to the success of the Silent Auction.
The Auxiliary membership elected a new slate of officers in Myrtle
Beach. They are: Hazel Compton of Stafford, Virginia, as president;
Dora Gabe of San Antonio, Texas, as Vice President; Joan Langworthy
of Wilmington, North Carolina, as Secretary; Mary McKenzie of
Lewisburg, Tennessee, as Treasurer; and Joyce Thornton of Fort
Myers, Florida, as Reporter.
Every year new members help the Auxiliary grow. This year was
no exception. We would like to welcome the new members and hope
they will soon feel part of our Auxiliary family.
One of the highlights of the national conventions is to once again
meet old friends and colleagues in the work of supporting blinded
veterans. The more conventions we attend, the closer our relationships
become.

they would like to include in the next quarterly Bulletin, please
