BVA of Wisconsin commemorated National Blinded Veterans Day on March 28 with a luncheon hosted by American Legion Post 434 in the City of Oak Creek.
The event attracted 47 BVA members and their guests, representatives of several organizations of and for the blind, and featured guest speaker Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Zimmerman (Ret.), who is pictured at right with regional group president John Carter.
Zimmerman is a recently appointed career Army Intelligence officer and former Combat Engineer soldier. He is also the recently appointed Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the State of Wisconsin.
