Over a 20-year period Army First Sergeant Danny Wallace (Ret.) served as a Rifleman, Radio Transmitter Operator, Team Leader, Squad Leader, Ranger Instructor, Platoon Sergeant, Company Executive Officer, and finally as Company First Sergeant.
Injured by a car bomb in Iraq that eventually left him with limited vision in just one eye, Danny first learned about BVA while attending the Central Blind Rehabilitation Center at Hines, Illinois. Soon thereafter he attended a BVA national convention as part of the Association’s Operation Peer Support initiative.
Early last year Danny was appointed BVA’s National Sergeant-at-Arms. He also serves as a BVA peer mentor to newly blinded veterans who confront the same challenges he has faced.
