James Vallo Passing Creates Huge Void

We of the Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana (O-K-I) Regional Group are deeply saddened at the loss of our dear friend, Jim Vallo.

Jim was an active member of the regional group, serving as an officer in many positions. Along with two of his best friends, Charles and Emily Kuhnwald, they operated the BVA office at the Dayton VA Medical Center.

He also served as one of BVA’s VA Voluntary Service Officers. He will be sorely missed by the entire membership of the O-K-I Regional Group.

Virginia Blind Youth Offers Thanks to Blinded Veterans

I am a blind student in tenth grade and I wanted to write and thank you for your service.  I was born blind but I can only imagine how much worse it must be to lose your sight in the prime of life.  Being blind is no picnic, and I'm sure that it is even harder getting accustomed to all the new challenges and obstacles that come with being blind.

I want you to know that I appreciate the sacrifices you've made for us and our country. The things you've done greatly impact how we live and the freedoms we have. I admire you for your bravery and strength through rough times and circumstances. You are a symbol of hope for our nation in times of turmoil. You give us strength when we're struggling because you have gone through greater fights than we can imagine.

Thank you very much for your undying love for our country.
