The Memorial, dedicated in 1995, features 19 stainless steel sculptured statues standing quietly next to the more than 2,500 images of the conflict reflected on a black granite wall. A second granite wall reveals the Memorial’s theme, “Freedom Is Not Free,” etched in silver. Photo courtesy of Ana Fitzpatrick.
